Terms of Service
Last updated: January 29, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BatchForge platform operated at batchforge.io ("Service"), provided by BatchForge ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use BatchForge. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. Account & Access
Access to BatchForge is by invitation only. You may join our waitlist, and we will invite users at our discretion. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your account credentials or magic link emails with others.
3. The Service
BatchForge allows you to upload tabular data (CSV/JSON), define prompt templates, select a language model, and process each row through the selected model. The Service offers two processing modes:
- Immediate mode — rows are processed with higher concurrency; results stream back in near real-time.
- Batch mode — rows are grouped and processed asynchronously with up to 50% cost savings when the provider supports batch endpoints.
4. Credits & Billing
Usage is measured in credits. 1 credit = $0.01 USD. Credits are deducted as rows are successfully processed. Higher-capability models may consume more credits per row.
- New accounts receive a welcome bonus of 50 free credits.
- Additional credits can be purchased through the platform.
- You may opt into auto top-up with a configurable threshold and amount (minimum threshold $5, minimum top-up $10).
- If your credits are exhausted and auto top-up is not enabled, in-progress jobs will pause.
- Credits are non-refundable except where required by law.
5. Your Data
You retain all ownership rights to the data you upload and the outputs generated by the Service. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
- Uploaded files and results are retained for 30 days after job completion, then automatically deleted.
- You may delete your data at any time via the platform.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring that your data does not violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, including data protection and privacy laws
- Infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of any third party
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, concurrency controls, or security measures
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service
- Use the Service to develop a competing product
- Submit prompts that violate the acceptable use policies of the underlying LLM providers
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without prior notice.
7. Third-Party Providers
The Service sends your data to third-party LLM providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) for processing. Each provider has its own terms of service and acceptable use policies. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with those policies.
If you use Bring Your Own Key (BYOK), requests are made under your own API key and your agreement with the provider applies directly. We are not responsible for the actions, availability, or policies of third-party providers.
8. Service Levels
- Immediate mode: Best effort to complete in minutes. No formal SLA.
- Batch mode: Best effort target of 24 hours. No refunds if jobs exceed this timeframe.
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance with or without prior notice.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is owned by BatchForge and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand assets.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BatchForge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the outputs generated by language models will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your intended purpose.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BatchForge and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
13. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your uploaded data within 30 days of termination unless retention is required by law.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on the platform. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in California.
